UConn Hartford brings their focus on integrating research, teaching, and community service to Hartford. Their distinguished faculty are engaged in innovative scholarship, analyzing critical issues in urban studies, education, social inequalities, business, public policy, and more.
UConn Hartford’s programs incorporate experiential learning engaged with and informed by the many cultural, political, social, and economic institutions of the surrounding metropolitan area. With a high priority on community outreach and service, the campus is home to the School of Social Work, Graduate Business Learning Center, Master of Fine Arts in Arts Administration, Neag School of Education Master or Arts with Teacher Certification Program, Department of Public Policy, Urban and Community Studies Program, the Sustainable Global Cities Initiative and the Connecticut State Historian.
The Hartford campus serves as a model of community engagement and success for urban schools and will attract many new community partnerships with the city—as well as boosting the local economy and resurgence of their home community.
