Rasheda Weaver appointed managing editor

Metropolitan Universities journal is thrilled to welcome Rasheda Weaver, Ph.D., as managing editor. In this role, Weaver leads authors, guest editors, and the editorial team through the production process to ensure we produce and release our quarterly publication in a timely and professional manner.

Weaver serves as assistant professor for entrepreneurship and innovation at the Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Iona College. She is a leading expert on the use of social enterprise and entrepreneurship as a human and community economic development tool. Her dissertation was the first large-scale empirical study on the social, economic, and legal activities of social enterprises in the United States and she is the creator of Weaver’s Social Enterprise Directory, a national, public directory for social enterprises in the nation.

Prior to joining Iona College, she was an assistant professor of community entrepreneurship and the founding faculty co-director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Learning Community at the University of Vermont.

In addition to her own varied forms of scholarship, she has served as a special issue editor for the Entrepreneurship, Education, and Pedagogy Journal and hopes to launch the Social Enterprise Education Journal to advance knowledge about theories, case studies, and pedagogical innovations within the field.
