Presented by: Portland State University, CSU Project Rebound: Consortium, and California State University, Sacramento

In this panel presentation, formerly incarcerated students, graduates, and supporting faculty will discuss the importance of specific services for students who are justice impacted. Providing support for formerly incarcerated students on campuses of colleges and universities is a key issue in equity and inclusivity. Promoting the recruitment, retention, and success of justice impacted students strengthens the health of the institution and the community at large; it is low cost and not particularly difficult to implement. On a societal level, the benefits exponentially outweigh the costs, but nationally these services are lacking. Students will share their experiences–what worked, what didn’t work, what was missing, what they wish they had access to. This panel will help all of us learn how to better support this group of students.
