Addressing basic needs insecurity in college and university students
Presented by Rashida Crutchfield, California State University, Long Beach
Food insecurity, housing insecurity, and homelessness are widespread among college and university students, yet not always recognized or comprehensively addressed. Basic needs insecurity affects student health and wellbeing, academic achievement, and degree completion.
In this talk, Dr. Rashida Crutchfield will discuss strategies for understanding and addressing these issues at your own institution. Dr. Crutchfield is a nationally-recognized expert on student basic needs. She led the California State University systems’ groundbreaking research on student basic needs, and continues research in assessment and evaluation of emerging campus and community student supports.
