Publications and Research
Research is integral to CUMU as it provides a forum to introduce and share best practices. The Coalition actively pursues its research agenda through two venues, the Coalition’s quarterly publication, Metropolitan Universities Journal, and directly funding research vetted through a proposal process.
The Metropolitan Universities Journal has been in publication since 1991 and has addressed numerous themes critical to the evolution of urban and metropolitan institutions. Themes have included:

- Public Policy Issues (Volume 10)

The Coalition has funded critical research on behalf of the members of the Coalition. Our current featured publication was authored by Dennis Jones, President of the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems (NCHEMS).
