Call for Proposals Call for Proposals is closed The 14th annual CUMU conference, hosted by Northern Kentucky University and the University of Cincinnati from October 18-21, 2008, will examine the ways in which academic institutions and their communities are building bridges to regional collaboration. The conference builds on the concept outlined in the Brookings Institution’s Blueprint for American Prosperity: “the ability of our nation to grow and prosper and meet the social and environmental challenges of our time depends heavily on the health and vitality of our metropolitan areas.” The conference will provide a forum for faculty and administrators to discuss and explore institutional commitments by urban and metropolitan universities to drive both social and economic progress in their metropolitan areas. Please join us for a thought-provoking meeting that will include exciting plenary sessions, paper presentations, special topic panels, and poster sessions. Suggested Topics
Proposal Submission Guidelines Individuals may submit proposals for paper presentations, panel discussions, or poster displays. Consistent with the conference theme, the content should relate to institutional commitments by urban and metropolitan universities to drive progress in their regional communities. Submission deadline: May 30, 2008 Selection and Notification The committee will evaluate your proposal for content, appropriateness, and interest. Notification letters will be sent by June 30, 2008. Conference presenters will be invited to submit papers to the Editor of Metropolitan Universities journal for possible publication in a future journal issue.
